Brewed just once a year by Peter McAuslan and brew master, Ellen Bounsall, St-Ambroise Vintage Ale is the culmination of our experience and passion. Our previous vintage ales have won accolades and international awards. We expect no less from our 2012 series.

Made with a blend of wheat and barley malts, including Munich malt, this unfiltered ale has a lovely deep-orange colour, rich maltiness, hints of caramelized fruit that recall plum pudding, and a surprisingly crisp, balanced finish provided by classic Goldings hops.

Serve St-Ambroise Vintage Ale between 13 ºC and 15 ºC, preferably in a port glass or brandy snifter. This vintage ale will improve with age for a number of years. Store in a cool, dark place. The joy of sharing has never taste so good.

McAuslan Brewing wins two Gold medals at Mondial de la bière’s MBière and two Golds, one Silver and Bronze at the “Canadian Brewing Awards” (CBA)

Montreal, June 12, 2012 – On Saturday night (June 9), founder’s Peter McAuslan and Ellen Bounsall joined brewers from across the country at the 10th annual “Canadian Brewing Awards” gala diner at the Montreal Arts Centre.

McAuslan Brewing receive four medals, the only brewer to do so. Medals included: Gold for St-Ambroise Oatmeal Stout and St-Ambroise Pumpkin Ale, Silver for St-Ambroise Pale Ale and Bronze for St-Ambroise Scotch Ale. This comes a week after St-Ambroise Vintage Ale and St-Ambroise Russian Imperial Stout both received Gold medals from the Mondial de la
bière’s “MBière” Awards.

“This is an exciting time for the microbrewery and craft beer industry – we are thrilled to be part of this momentum even after 25 years in the
business”, comments McAuslan.

In 2011, both St-Ambroise Pale Ale and Griffon Extra Pale Ale took the top spot in the Pale Ale and Blond category in the respected “Protegez-Vous” review of Quebec beers.
Earlier in the year, St-Ambroise Oatmeal Stout and St-Ambroise Vintage Ale were awarded gold and silver medals respectively by the Beverage Tasting Institute whose mission is to create fair and reliable reviews of beers for consumers.

About McAuslan Brewing

Established in 1988, McAuslan Brewing is one of Quebec’s original microbreweries. Located in St. Henri along the banks of the Lachine Canal, McAuslan’s year-round offerings include: St. Ambroise Pale Ale, Oatmeal Stout, Apricot Wheat Ale, Cream Ale, Griffon Extra Pale Ale and Red Ale. McAuslan is sold throughout Canada and the US, and is consistently recognized by beer writers as one of Canada’s best brewers.
