LOCAL APPLES, URBAN CIDER HOUSE

Our history is rooted in the Frelighsburg estate, a region of the Eastern Townships renowned for its agriculture. Built in the 19th century, the farm and its dwellings are heritage buildings that once belonged to Adélard Godbout, Premier of Quebec. It was he who planted the first trees in the orchard in 1932.

At the edge of a maple forest and at the foot of a mountain, our orchard today covers 20 acres, with over 7000 apple trees. It’s in a peaceful valley, with fertile soil and rich earth through which three streams flow. Our trees produce six varieties of generous, sweet, juicy and crisp apples. At blossom time, it’s our bees who do the pollinating.

CIDERS

Our McAdam cider is distinguished by its balanced taste. Neither too sweet nor too dry. Its light acidity, subtle bitterness and sweetness harmonize smoothly. Bright amber-yellow, its fine bubbles tickle the tongue for a refreshing finish.

We produce several types of cider. Rosé, cherry and blackcurrant, pear.

McAdam is all about Quebec apples and fruit, and contemporary products skilfully fermented in our urban cider house.

OUR PROCESS

All our apples are hand-picked, and fermentation takes place in our urban cider house. Because cider is a delicate product that relies on a delicate balance, the equipment at our McAuslan facility in St-Henri allows for the fine control and consistency needed at every stage of the process.
